Reba May Wallace a widow and a resident of Santa Clara, New Mexico passed into eternal rest on January 31, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center. Reba was born in Silver City, NM and as a child lived in Bayard and attended and graduated from Cobre High School. Both of her parents, William W. Wallace and Hazel Adeline Currey, have preceded her in death. Reba’s siblings were three sisters Laura Anne, Angela Pearl, Irene Joy, and one brother William Alfred.
Reba was an avid painter, she excelled in painting landscapes and loved to design western scenes that captured the uniqueness of the Southwest. She shared her love of art by teaching aspiring students the techniques necessary to succeed in their own efforts at developing this skill. She was a skilled seamstress, and enjoyed talking about her family history, which included her grandfather, James (Lou) Wallace, 1st Territorial Governor of New Mexico.
Reba loved to cook Mexican food and prepared delicious enchiladas, tacos, and tamales. Reba enjoyed listening to music, and loved an occasional trip to the casinos where she had on occasion beat the odds and won the jackpot, she had a great sense of humor and a contagious laughter. Her blue eyes would warm up any room she walked into. We will miss seeing into those blue eyes but we will never forget how those blue eyes looked back at us.
Arrangements are pending under the care of Bacas Funeral Chapels.
