Rebecca Patricia Vega

Rebecca P. Vega (Becky), 62, a lifelong resident of Silver City went to be with the Lord at her residence on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, surrounded by her family.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary and A Celebration of Life led by Minister Eric Vreeland will take place at Baca’s Funeral Chapels in Silver City on Friday, November 25, 2022 at ten o’clock in the morning.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Morones, Anthony Vega, Joseph Morones, Andres Vega, Orlando Vigil IV, Bruce Vigil, Matthew Vigil, Justin Vigil, and Carlos Morones.

Rebecca was born on February 23, 1960 to Ray and Bertha Ramos of Silver City, New Mexico.

She was known by many for her strong kind heart and loving smile. Rebecca would walk into a room and have everyone laughing and dancing. Becky enjoyed life and being around family. She would always put together family gatherings to enjoy time with family and friends. Some of her pastime enjoyments were bowling and cooking. She was known for her artistic and musical talents. One thing everyone will remember Rebecca by is being a strong mother figure to all, a loving grandmother and animal lover.

Rebecca is survived by her life partner of 36 years, Tony Morones; her children, Sonja Vega (Orlando Vigil) of Cliff NM, Anthony Vega (Maria Pacheco) of Albuquerque NM, Joseph Morones of Silver City, NM. Her grandchildren Angelica Campa, Andres Vega, Bianca Vigil, Orlando Vigil IV, Bruce Vigil, Matthew Vigil, Justin Vigil, Analicia Vega, Sophia Vega, Veronica Morones and Carlos Morones; her sisters, Rachel Terrazas and Sylvia McLaughlin.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Bertha Ramos.
