Obituary

Richard Casillas, 68, lifelong Deming resident passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at his residence.

Visitation will take place Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 9 to 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. A rosary will be recited at 11 recited by Elias Anchieta. Interment will follow after at Mountain View Cemetery.

Richard was born October 25, 1953 in Deming to and Robert and Guadalupe (Saenz) Casillas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. His family will remember his humor and love for biscuits and gravy. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over buying a new one or as he would call it Mcguever, he had an indefinite love for his trucks and cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and riding & caring for his horses. His warm personality will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Luz Casillas of the home; his children, Richard Casillas, Brenda Casillas, Jacob (Melissa) Casillas, Diana (Sef) Quintero, Ricky Casillas, Angel Casillas, Diana Alvarado, Adriana (Romaldo)Rodriguez, and Arturo (Allie) Casillas; siblings, Bobby (Martha) Casillas, Raymond (Petra) Casillas, Arturo (Isela) Casillas, Lorenza (Anastacio) Romero, and Jessie (Kenneth) Garcia 28 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Guadalupe Casillas.

Pallbearers will serve as Arturo and Henry Casillas, Diana and JC Alvarado, Romaldo Rodriguez and Jose Reta.
