Rigoberto Vera

Rigoberto Vera, 66, longtime Deming resident entered eternal rest Thursday September 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, September 8, 2021, beginning at 4 o’clock at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a prayer vigil begins at 6 led by Martha Prieto. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock Thursday morning at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Father Jesus Martinez, Pastor, Officiating. 

Rigoberto was born December 25, 1954 to Rafaela Del Muro and Jesus Vera in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. He married Maria de la Luz DeLeon on July 18, 1976 in Jerez, G. Salinas, Zacatecas. He began working for Luna County Courthouse in July of 1976  in the maintenance department for a total of 29 years retiring in July of 2005. 

He was known for being a strong hard-working man and was very dedicated to his family and work. He will be truly missed by his wife, kids and many families and friends. 

He is survived by his mother, Rafaela Vera; his loving wife of 43 years Maria de la Luz Vera of the home; daughter, Esmeralda and her husband Abel Mendoza; sons, Reymundo, Rigoberto Jr. and Jorge Vera; sisters, Estela Vera, Rogelia and her husband Salvador Martinez, Raquel and her husband Jose, and Maria Vera; brothers, Jenaro and his wife Julia Vera, Jesus and his wife Luz Elva Vera, Juan Vera, Raul and his wife Martha Vera, David Vera and Ruben and his wife Corina Vera.  His 7 grandchildren, Sincerra, Alexander, Estella, Jorge Gabriel, Diego Vera, Klarissa and Sebastian Mendoza. His great-grandchild, Alonzo Campos and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Rigoberto was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Vera and sister, Luisa Vera Togstad. 

Pallbearers will be Reymundo Vera, Jorge Vera, Rigoberto Jr, Alexander Vera, Jorge Gabriel Vera, and Abel Mendoza.
