Robelia Sally (Salas) Sanchez

Robelia Sally Sanchez, 89, longtime Deming resident passed away January 9, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Carlsbad.

Visitation will begin Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10 to 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11. Concluding services and interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Gabe Rubio will officiate.

She was born on December 29, 1932 to Mucio and Petra Salas. She was married to Alfredo D. Sanchez on March 19, 1949 and was married for 58 years. Robelia was an active member and Elder of her church, CitiLife Church for many years. She was an avid walker, and a devoted wife and mother. Together they raised their five children, Alfredo (Molly) Sanchez, Christina (Carlos) Ochoa, Priscilla (Gary) Sweeten, Lillian (Orlando) Ramirez, and Richard Sanchez. They had 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren on the way. She left behind her best friend and pet “Baba.”

Robelia is preceded in death by her parents Mucio and Petra Salas; her husband, Alfredo Sanchez; 2 children, Christina Ochoa and Richard Sanchez; as well as a grandson, Gary Lee Sweeten.

Serving as pallbearers will be Arturo Alcantar, Joseph Alfredo Sanchez, Izayah Moreno, Steven Ortega, Charles Garcia and Carlos Ochoa III.

Honorary Pallbearers will serve as Alfredo Sanchez, David Reyes and Jessie Ochoa.
