Robert L. Flournoy

Robert L. Flournoy, 74, Deming resident passed away Friday August 3, 2018 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Friday August 10, 2018 from 10 until 11 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Deming. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 o’clock also at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Rev. Reginald D. Price, Pastor will officiate.

Robert was born October 15, 1943 in Anthony New Mexico to Lacy Lee Flournoy and Emma G. Boyer (Flournoy). He married Alice Williams and together raised 5 children. He lived 11 years in Mesquite, New Mexico, later moved to Las Cruces and settled for the next 33 years. Then took up residency in Deming New Mexico for the past 5 years of his life.  “Bud”, never took he always gave. He offered himself to the line of work that kept food on the table and clothes on our back. He touched the heart of people and left an impact on many lives. He was known as a real people’s person. Always ready to work, gave his all, and never holding anything back. Robert allowed his family to see the world. The greatest truck driver ever known. We can truly say Robert, Bud, and Monk gave his all. That’s what made him who he was. A grandfather, father, husband, son, brother, uncle dad, brother-in-law, and friend. God has always been up and yet is with us. Live on Bud. We will always love and miss you.

Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; son, Robert Flournoy of California; 4 daughters, Yvonne Flournoy of Pasadena, CA, LaDawn Flournoy of El Paso, TX, Emma and Mellissa Flournoy both of Deming; mother, Emma Flournoy of Vado, NM; 3 sisters, Willie Francis (Rudy) Streeter of Pasadena, CA, Mary (David) Milner of El Paso, TX, Debra Salmen of Houston, TX, and 9 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his father, Lacy Lee Flournoy and 2 brothers, Lacy and Sherman Flournoy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan, Abram and Elizabeth Flournoy, Derrick and Michael Milner and Lee Hooper.

Honorary bearers include Robert, John and Charles Williams, Larry Vaugh, Billy Edwards and Johnny Payan.
