Ronald Tharp

Ronald Tharp, lifelong resident of Deming received his final call on Monday August 30th. He was the only child of Lena and Orley Tharp, born July 6, 1946. On August 2nd, 1969 he married his loving partner, Lois Phillips.

Ron was a fireman for the City of Deming for 23 years. He retired with the rank of Captain in 1989. After his retirement he enjoyed restoring old tractors and visiting with his many friends. He frequently helped in the flower shop that his parents opened in 1955. He most enjoyed making deliveries in the rural areas.

He is survived by his wife, Lois and his children, Susan Swope (James) and their daughters, Stephanie Moon (Wyatt) and Stacy Watkins (Colton), Nancy Prichard and her children, Ross and Amy and Tim Tharp (Heather) and their sons, Tyson and Brice.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday October 16, 2021 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Mt. View Cemetery.  Please join his family as the Deming Fire Department honors his 23 years of service to Deming and Luna County.  Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
