Rumaldo C Rivera Jr

Rumaldo C. Rivera Jr., 79, lifelong Deming resident who most recently lived in El Paso, Texas passed away Thursday May 20, 2021.

No service will take place as were his wishes. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Rumaldo was born February 14, 1942 to Julia Casares and Rumaldo H. Rivera Sr. in Deming. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his return he married the love of his life, Maria Renteria and together raised 3 children. Rumaldo worked at the Cotton Gin, Border Foods and lastly at Walmart where he retired after 14 years of employment. His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his son, Frank Rivera and his wife Susanna of Las Cruces; daughter, Teresa R. Armenta of Las Cruces; 3 brothers, Juan Contreras, Daniel Rivera both of Deming and Samuel Chavez of CA; 6 sisters, Connie Serna of Bellflower, CA, Rebecca Rivera of Deming, Josephine Zuniga, Maryann Diaz, Rosemary Navarro of CA; Teresa and Ramona Rivera both of Las Cruces; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Rumaldo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Rivera; daughter, Maricela Rivera; siblings, Elias & Enrique Rivera, David Chavez, Ruth Renteria and Margaret Maldonado.
