Samuel Barragan Martinez

Samuel Barragan Martinez, “Sam”, 61, of Silver City passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Samuel was born February 3, 1961 in Silver City to Margarito and Delfina (Barragan) Martinez.  He had worked for the Town of Silver City for many years.  Sam enjoyed the outdoors, spending time doing the things he loved, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle, all while listening to favorite music. The thing Sam loved the most was his family, spending time with his grandchildren was one of the most important things to him.  Sam will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.     

Samuel is survived by his two sons, Roland C Martinez (Cynthia Norero) and Jeremy J Carbajal (Maria Zapata); one daughter, Felicia Andujo (John); sister, JoAnn B Martinez (Oscar Munoz); grandchildren, Zia, Anaceli, Santino, Andi, Jon and Fiona.  Also surviving Sam is his ex-wife and mother to his children Sonia J. Martinez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Delfina Martinez and his father-in-law, Rudy Carbajal.

At Sam’s request, cremation will take place and Graveside Memorial Services will be a 10 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.  Officiating will be Deacon Art Gutierrez.
