Sheryl Ann Atwater 71, passed away, surrounded by her family, on June 22, 2026.
She was born November 20, 1954 in Alpine, Texas. Sheryl attended Saint Mary's, and graduated from Silver High School. She married and had two wonderful boys, David and Jimmy Atwater. Sheryl had many careers including real estate, owning her own BBQ restaurant, bartending, waitressing, and managing. She was very passionate and dedicated to the Moose Lodge. There she built lasting friendships and contributed her time and energy to causes close to her heart.
Sheryl leaves behind two sons, David and wife Stephanie, James and wife Sarita; her grandchildren, Magen, Davis, Brianna, Tyler Atwater, Orion Fountain, and Jordan Gose; brother, John Bynum and wife Leaheen and their children; Also surviving her are her goddaughter, Tiffany Kested and her guardian angel, Perry Childs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Barbara Bynum and some of her close friends.
At Sheryl’s request cremation has taken place. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. Inurnment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.
After the services we will gather at the Moose Lodge for family and friends.
