Steve S. Ramirez, Sr.

Steve Salaiz Ramirez, Sr., 78, of Silver City passed away March 22, 2026.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with military honors accorded.   

Steve was born September 25, 1947 in Santa Rita, NM to Gregorio and Corina (Saliaz) Ramirez.  He had served his country honorably in the United States Army, during the Vietnam conflict, earning two Bronze Star medals.  Steve had worked and retired from the Grant County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator.   

Steve is survived by his brothers, Tony (Linda) Ramirez of Silver City and Jerry Ramirez of Albuquerque, NM.  Three sons, Steve Ramirez, Jr, John Ramirez and Danny Ramirez all of Clovis, NM; a special granddaughter, Destiny (Joey) Panelli, and great granddaughters, Olivia and Ivy of Mesa, Arizona.  Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Corina.
