Tom Blanchard

1950 - 2021

Silver City

Tom Blanchard passed away on April 17, 2021 after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).  He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Holt; three brothers, James, Ronald, and Robert Blanchard and their families.

A lifelong motorsports enthusiast, Tom raced sportscars up until his disease made it no longer possible.  Born Thomas Edward Blanchard on July 15, 1950 in Jamestown, NY, he began his insurance career in Colorado in 1976, and retired twice – but couldn’t really quit – he loved the business and his clients too much.  He moved to Silver City, NM in 2013 and he opened Tom Blanchard Insurance.  It was Tom’s fondest hope that his agency would continue and Carol intends to honor that request.

Tom’s zest for life and fun-loving nature will be remembered by all who knew him.

Tom will be cremated and, because of the COVID-19 virus and the restrictions it has caused, there will be no memorial service at this time.

In lieu of flowers or donations, please spend an hour doing something that makes you happy to celebrate a life well lived.
