Tomas Rivas Gomez

Tomas R. Gomez, 72, of Silver City passed away at his home on Friday, April 28, 2023. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Visitation will begin at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at eleven o’clock. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow thereafter. Officiating is Deacon Bill Holguin.

Tomas was born on June 25, 1950 in Silver City, NM to Tomas M. Gomez and Helen R. Gomez. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Francis Newman Center. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family and loved to watch the 49ers play. He will certainly be missed by all his family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Tomas and Helen Gomez; his wife, Petra Gomez; sisters, Rosemary Gonzalez and Ester Chavez; brother, David Gomez.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Medina (Mike); sons, Daniel Gomez (Jessica) and Jose Gomez (Renee); eleven grandchildren: Daniel, Thomas Anthony and Amber Gomez, Chelsea Medina, Andrew Arroyo, Stephanie Jasso (Xavier), Valerie Arzaga (Thomas), Vanessa Martinez, Daniella and Elena Gomez; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Ignacio Gomez (Deana); two sisters, Yolanda and Perla Gomez; one brother-in-law, Alex Gonzalez. Also surviving Tomas are very many nieces and nephews.
