Tomasa Garcia de Porras

Tomasa Garcia de Porras, 89, a former resident of Deming passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Las Cruces. She was born December 21, 1933 in Janos, Chihuahua to Transito Garcia Nananjo and Petra Garcia Mendoza.

Visitation will begin Friday, November 10, 2023 from 4 to 6 o’clock in the evening at Baca’ Funeral Chapel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 led by Irma Jaurequi. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with the rite of committal and interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Deacon Art Gutierrez will officiate.

Tomasa is survived by her children Hilario Porras Garcia, Victor M. Porras Garcia, Oscar Porras Garcia, Jose Porras, Mario (Leticia Bonilla) Porras Garcia, Florinda Porras Garcia, Socorro (Michael Dobyns) Porras Garcia, and Marcelia (Victor Manuel Hernandez) Porras Garcia; 3 siblings Agapito Garcia-Garcia, Alex Garcia-Garcia, and Socorro Garcia- Garcia; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Manuel Porras and 3 siblings Elva, Santa Cruz, and Hortencia.

Serving as her pallbearers will be Victor Manuel Hernandez, Thomas Porras Martinez, Victor, Oscar, Jose, and Mario Porras Garcia.
