Ventura Escobar Obituary

Ventura Machado Escobar

February 23, 1941 – October 24, 2025

Ventura Machado Escobar, 84, of Lordsburg, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born on February 23, 1941, in Los Angeles, California. Ventura’s greatest joy was her family.

Mrs. Escobar was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe L. Escobar, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage and her son, Joe Escobar Jr. She was a devoted wife and mother of seven children—four daughters and three sons—and took immense pride in her family. She was a loving, caring woman whose happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was well known for her love of cooking and baking, especially her famous homemade tamales, a favorite among family and friends. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home, where countless cherished memories were made and shared.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Escobar served her community in many ways. She worked at the Lordsburg Café, the County Courthouse, the Abstract Office in Lordsburg, and cared for local families as a babysitter. In every role, she was admired for her dedication, strong work ethic, and kind spirit.

At her core, Mrs. Escobar was a homemaker whose fulfillment came from caring for her loved ones and maintaining a warm, welcoming home. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her gentle nature, and her unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

She is survived by her seven children, 19 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren—with more on the way—along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
