Wendell Alvin Hardegree “Spindle”, 61, passed away at his home in Deming, New Mexico on Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was born in Concord, California on March 26, 1961.
Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, HR Hardegree and Glenda Hill-Simicsak; his youngest brother, Michael “J” Hardegree and the love of his life, LaLa.
Wendell left behind his 2 fur-kids, Trouble and Teaspoon; 4 siblings, Brenda Lytle of Clovis, NM, James (Carolyn) Hardegree of Odessa, TX, Melinda (Howard) Edwards of Lubbock, TX and Sarah (Tim) Hodson of Clovis, NM. In addition to his lifelong friends, David “Ratt” Ransone, Mike Jones, Floyd Dudley, Sheridan Walker, numerous aunts/uncles, and nieces/nephews.
Wendell’s favorite quote was “Descendant of men, who would not be ruled.” Wendell did just that, lived life on his own terms, right up until the end. Wendell was a proud Navy Veteran, although he was a man of many talents, he was a machinist by trade. He was an avid writer and artist who found joy in building and creating things, especially his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
The family would like to give an honorable mention to American Legion Riders Brotherhood who will be giving Wendell his final ride on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
A memorial service will be held at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico. Pastor Wayne Boydstun will officiate.
