William “Bill” Johnson Everhart, 75, passed away peacefully March 17, 2021, at his home.
Bill was born February 16, 1946 to Mahlon Thatcher Everhart and Suzanne Johnson Everhart of Hachita, NM. The majority of Bill’s life was spent south of Hachita, managing the Hatchet Ranch for the family from 1969 until 1991. His later years were spent in Deming, NM with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Patricia “Pat” S. Everhart. He is survived by his two daughters, Caroline Everhart, and Pamela Vreeland, both of Deming. He is also survived by a brother, Mahlon “Terry” Everhart (JoyAnn) of Pueblo, CO and sisters, Barbara Everhart of Colorado Springs, CO and Jouett Smith (David) of Deming, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. His love of the outdoors was legendary. A Celebration of Life will take place in the near future. The time and an outdoor location will be announced at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
