Willie McDonald Jr. 77, went home November 1, 2019 in Sun City West Arizona.

A memorial service will be Wednesday December 4, 2019 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Calvary Church in Lordsburg.  Inurnment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.  Military honors will be accorded.

Willie was born October 10, 1942 to Willie McDonald and Esperanza Rivera in Marfa, Texas. Willie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen, two sons Tim McDonald and Tom (Michelle) McDonald, stepsons Jeff (Michele) Bejarano and Kenny (Cindy) Bejarano, Sister Pansy McDonald. He is survived by nine grandchildren Rikki McDonald, Toni (Jordan) Sarazen, Shanna McDonald, Ryan (Maurie) Nicholson, Andrea (Robert) Hernandez, Tyler (Marissa) Bejarano, Kristy (Simon) Garcia, Timmy (Emily) Bejarano, Alyssa (Zach) Hartman. He is survived by six great grandchildren Mason and Shae Nicholson, Alex Huerta, Isa Hernandez, Isabella and Levi Garcia.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and son Jimmie Joe McDonald and one brother Jimmie Joe McDonald.

Willie attended Lordsburg High School where he was active in football, basketball, and

track. After graduating in 1961, Willie joined the Air Force and served 4 years. Later Willie

worked as a Civil Service Fire Fighter and was a Fire Chief at Davis Monthan Air Base in Tucson--

where he retired. Willie loved football and enjoyed watching his sons play. He was an avid LHS

Maverick fan. He loved to be outdoors camping and looking for arrowheads and pottery. Willie

never met a stranger and enjoyed talking about old times and how things used to be. He shared

in a lot of people’s lives. The family would appreciate donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in lieu of flowers.
