Yolanda Milo

Yolanda Milo, born on November 27, 1965, in Deming, New Mexico, was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Treasured member of our family whose life was a gift from God. She was the baby (La Nina) of our mother, Glora Chavez, and was deeply cherished by all who knew and loved her. For 60 wonderful years, our mother devoted herself lovingly and faithfully to Yolanda’s care, and together they shared a bond known only to God.

During her early years, Yolanda attended Southwestern Services for the handicapped (SWSH). She attended Cobre Schools and then Silver High School where she graduated in 1987. She enjoyed going to Life Quest community activities and, more recently, attending community functions and services with An Open Door. Yolanda found joy in simple and beautiful things. She loved creating abstract designs on paper and asking family members to draw seahorses, seashells, and fish. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her siblings to see what they were making for dinner and to ask about their family. She liked going out to eat at her favorite restaurants, listening to music, shopping and taking pictures with family and friends. Precious moments that brought her happiness and gave our family cherished memories.

Everyone who knew Yolanda knew her as a unique and beautiful soul who brought joy to both her family and the wider community through the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her life was filled with meaning and purpose, and her presence touched many hearts. Yolanda leaves behind a lasting imprint of love, tenderness, and grace that will remain with us always. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Yolanda is survived by her siblings Mark (Tabitha) Chavez, Ronald (Nora) Milo, Natalia Quevedo and Delia (Paul) Cabrera. She was preceded in death by her parents Gonzalo Milo and Gloria Chavez, as well as her brother, Gilbert Milo.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with the rite of committal and interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Tony Basso will be officiating.

Receiving to the honor to serve as Yolanda’s pallbearers will be Mark Chavez, Paul Cabrera Jr., Gabriel Cabrera, David Cabrera, Adonai Chavez, and Danny Ray Marquez.
