Because You Are Our Family

Our Services

When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one. We will be happy to go over all your options and answer any questions that you may have.

A funeral service is a special time for family and friends to comfort one another, begin to find healing and celebrate a life well lived. Whether you choose burial or cremation, you can hold a funeral service to honor your loved one. We are happy to provide a traditional funeral or something completely unique. Many cultures and religions have special funeral traditions and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. This is a moment for you and your family and we are honored to help you in any way that we can.

Cremation has become a popular option for many people because it can be more flexible as to where and when you hold a service. You can have a traditional funeral service before a cremation or a memorial service at any time with or without the urn present. You can keep the urn, scatter the ashes or have the urn buried in a grave or columbarium where we can hold a service. Whether you choose burial or cremation, we’re here to offer you a meaningful ceremony.

Baca's Funeral Chapels is pleased to announce our ability to produce Video Tributes for the families we serve. A Video Tribute can contain video clips, stills and a soundtrack to capture the memories of a life lived that can be printed to VHS video tape or DVD and enjoyed for years to come. Reaction from families suggests that the video tribute will belong considered a family treasure. Technology allows us to take small pictures difficult to view and have them fill a television screen. We think you may be amazed at what we can do with pictures you provide. If you are interested in this service, please read the directions below for more information.

  • Collect pictures: A Video Tribute is assembled using up to a maximum of 60* pictures, which span the life of your loved one. The first step is to collect the pictures you wish to use for the Video Tribute. These pictures can also be used in preparing a memory board.

  • Additional pictures beyond 60 are not recommended because the length becomes too great for most viewers. For families who would like to include more than 60 photos, a fee of $5 per additional photo will be charged.

  • Please choose individual photos. Please remove photographs from frames and albums. Photos larger than 8 inches x 12 inches will be cropped.

  • Put pictures into order: The second step is to put these pictures into a logical order. Many families prefer a chronological order, but we will be glad to assemble the video in any order you desire. We ask that you place an adhesive number (which we will give to you) on the back of each picture, and we will assemble the video in that order.

  • Musical Selections: We have a library of music from which to choose, or you can provide your own music in CD or cassette format. The video will run five to eight minutes, so please select a primary song and perhaps a supplemental song or two to complete the soundtrack. You may also indicate the order of the songs.

  • Additional Copies: We developed the Video Tribute program to help provide meaningful services to the families we serve. To that end, we produce the video and provide one master copy of the tape. Many of our families have requested additional copies of the tape for other family members and friends. We produce these additional master videos at a nominal cost of $20.00 per VHS or DVD, but we ask that you submit your request for additional master tapes within two weeks of receiving your first tape. After this time, a $25.00 processing fee may be assessed to restore the content from archival.

Memorial Candles:

At Baca's Funeral Chapels we provide each of our full service families with a Memorial Candle as a tribute to their loved one. The candle is lit at the funeral or memorial service and the candle is given to the family to take home where it continues to give comfort. Many families will light the candle on holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions to commemorate the life that was lived. Additional candles are available for $8.00.

Memorial Folders:

Memorial folders are created to assist the guests who are attending the memorial services to follow along with the program that has been established by the family.  It also provides a memento to keep once the services are complete.

Baca's Funeral Chapels strive to provide personalized and meaningful services to meet the personal desires of the families we serve. We help hundreds of families every year, and each service is different, because each life that was lived is unique. We know that the details can be overwhelming at the time of loss, so our staff will help guide families through the various options they have. Together we will create a memorable service that has true meaning.

Place of Service - One of the first choices a family will make is where they would like to have the service take place:

Church Service - Many families have a church home and would prefer to have a religious service take place in the familiar surroundings of their church or synagogue. Our staff will work with the ministers, priests, or Rabbis to coordinate service times and various other aspects of the service.

Funeral Home - Each of our chapels are equipped to provide meaningful services to each of the families we serve. The funeral homes can accommodate the most formal of services, but also provide space for very informal gatherings and celebration of life services.

Graveside Service - Some families find that a simple service at the graveside would be the most meaningful option.

Other Meaningful Service Locations - We have services in a variety of settings that meet the needs of the families we serve. These include retirement centers, community centers, country clubs, public parks, private homes and many other locations.

Tools to Personalize - After choosing where and when a service or gathering would take place, Baca's Funeral Chapels incorporates technology to personalize many aspects of the service.

Memory Boards and Tables - Memory boards and tables have become a common way to personalize a funeral service. Photographs and other memorabilia can be displayed at the visitation and service. These items are often cherished and stimulate positive memories regarding the deceased. In this way, they also lend comfort to those left behind. Memory table space is provided to display items of significance. If someone had a hobby or was involved in the arts, crafts or photography we encourage families to bring examples of some of their work to be displayed.

Personalized Memorial Folders - Memorial folders have traditionally been used at memorial or funeral services. By personalizing the memorial folder with photos, verses or special sayings, the memorial folder becomes a keepsake for those who want to preserve cherished memories of someone special. We offer design assistance in-house at a significant savings relative to sending them out to be produced professionally.

Musical Selections - Music can be a wonderful way to evoke emotion and set the tone of the service or gathering. Our staff can coordinate with musicians at a church, our own in-house musicians, or contact professional musicians in our community. We also have the ability to play pre-recorded music on CDs or iPods. You can highlight a song or two for the service, or build a soundtrack to play at a visitation or memorial gathering. We own a large library of music that we offer to the families we serve.

Video Tributes - A video tribute contains photographs, video clips and a custom soundtrack all directed towards celebrating memorable and meaningful times during a life lived. We have equipped our funeral homes to play the video tribute at the time of visitation, gathering and/or service. Powerful when incorporated into the funeral service, a video tribute also preserves memories for a longtime to come. Reaction received from families utilizing this service suggests that the video tribute will be considered a family treasure. If you are interested in incorporating a video tribute into the funeral service, it is advisable to select the pictures ahead of time so that they can be brought to the arrangement conference. A video tribute instruction sheet can be found on our Creating Meaningful Memorialization page.

Memory Boxes - Simple items such as a memory box can be used to rekindle and preserve favorite memories. For example, family and friends may write a note to say goodbye in their own way or alternatively place items special to them in the memory box. The memory box is placed in the burial or cremation casket with their loved one. We've often seen young people find meaning in decorating the box so that not only the items inside but also the decoration outside lend personalization.

Participation In The Service - We encourage participation in the service by family members and friends whenever possible. Not everyone is comfortable speaking before a group of family and friends, but stories can be written down and read. Consider incorporating eulogists into the funeral service. Often close friends or family know the deceased better than the presiding clergy and as such can better reflect on the life of the deceased in a more personal way.
